LEATHER FACTORY TO BEGIN OPERATION IN JULY 1952 -- Skoplje, Nova MakedonSjw,
The new leather factory under construction {n Bitolj is scheduled to begin
operation in July 1952. The factory will employ 150 workers, 50 of whom may be
women.
nnually, the factory will produce leather for 150,000 pairs of women's-
shoes, 114,000 coats or items.of clothing for pilots, and 480,000 5airs off
gloves.

SHOE FACTORY MEETS 5-YEAR PLAN -- Gorizia, Soca, 10 Feb 51
The "Obutev" Footwear Factory in Kranj, the largest of its kind in Slovenia,
fulfilled its Five-Year Plan on 18 January 1951 re[xr having produced 3,756,785
pairs of various, types of shoes. The factory has branches in Maribor, Mars"
Sabots, Novo Mesto, and Trzic.
ODI E OVER 2.5 MILLION STOPPERS THIS YEAR -- Ljubljana, Ljudaka Pravica,

This year, the stopper factory in Ljubljana (Tovarna Zamaskov), the largest,
of its kind in Yugoslavia, will produce 2.5?million stoppers for general consump-
tion. The factory also produces cork insulating plates for cooling installations

Although cork oaks are grown near Pula and in Dalmatia, they are of poor
quality and are not exploited. Therefore Yugoslavia imports cork from Portugal
and Italy.

NEW GLASS FACTORY TO BEGIN OPERAFION -- Gorizia, Boca, 10 Feb 51
A new glaso factory in Samobor near Zagreb will begin operation in
March 1951 The factory will produce 800 kilograms of cast glass per day,
and vill manufacture glass tubes, laboratory glass, and also optical glass.
