In addition, the general pstlic lost 201,780,000 zlotys' worth of radio seta to the Germans during th^ o~.-upwtion. Legal Ststus Przedsiebioratwo Psn_*.vove "Polskie P.adio" (Polish Radio State Enterprise) was created by a decree of the PKWN (Pclskie Komitet Wyzwolenia Rarodowego, Polish Committee of Natinnsi Lit~rratton) oe 22 November 1944. It is a legal entity and is exempt From c~nLrt. registration. Assets of the Pcl.ish Radio are excluded from the total assets o' '.he State Treasury. The Polish Radio .a an independent economic +tnit managed on the basis of commercial principles with due consideration of state requLrements and publ;c interest. Expenditures of the Polish Radio are revered by its own i.acome and funds and subsidies from the 9tate~Treasury. The Polish Radio was =ubordiuste to the Ministry of Informs*.io.. and Propa- ganda until that ministry's ltauidarioa on 11 April 1947. Now it is subordinate to the Presidium of the Council of MleisterF. The Polish Radio has the exclusive right to build, equip, and operate radio broadcasting stations, relay stations; and radio networks. The first radio station, a gift of the USSR, made its first broadcast from Lublin oa 11 August 1944. This station vas subsequently moved to Warsaw. Within 3 years, 12 :idio transmitting stations were constructed and equipped, sad ten broad- castiag stations were built.
