Very s~ibstantial pro:~ress has been made on the Clam since ray last visit. The molder had completed almost all modifications to the mold and produced several hundred clams so that ~ iaould have them for test purposes .25X1 The bottom cover seal is now very satisfactory and the outer ed;_,es have been rounded off to avoid the sharp corners. The size of the hole for ti:e pencil snout was c?ranked for a better fit. The size is a compromise to allow adequate sealin:, with the lowest tolerance snout size. This results in a fairly tight fit on the upper tolerance snout. The mold was sand- blasted to achieve a rou.;tr finish with good success. The detonator seal bead was also
