SUBJECT: I (Memorandum of Justification
1. The CIPC of the IC Staff is charged by the DCI with developing
strategies for solving problems with an interagency dimension. To date, many
of its subjects have been in the area of national security, including the most
sensitive defense related issues. It is expected that the CIPC will continue
25X1 to deal with topics of this kind.
2. As the Vice Chairman of the CIPC, I am responsible to the Chairman for
the supervision of the staff and the management of its studies. Accordingly,
