1. The 20 Public Security Division, also called the KWangsi Provincial Public
Security Corps, stationed at Nanning, comprises two regiments. IMMO 'Cruel-
hsien (3769/1145/0341) is commander and Clt Huan (7871/2719) is political
commissar.
2. Tasks assigned to the division
a.

To expand its strength to three infantry regiments and one specialized
regiment. The two new regidents Must be organized, equipped and trained

b. To complete frontier defenses designed to prevent smuggling by merchants
along the Kwangsi-Vietnam border and in the coastal areas.
c. To establish well-organized frontier-control units to control residents
in the border region, to prevent the escape of army deserters andto
guard against other unlawful acts along the Kwangsi-Vietnam border. .
d. To assist government financial and economic organizations maintain nor-
mal trade and settle financial disorders along the Kwangsi-Vietnam border.
e. To strengthen the security of industrial enterprises by consolidating
the organization of public security units within these enterprises.
f. To enforce the forest protection plan, including the prevention of
cutting and burning of trees by landlords.
