MEMORANDUM FOR: Acting Director of Central Intelligence

SUBJECT: Weekly Report for Period Ending 2 January 1987
1.I (Career Trainees (CT) are currently cleared and confirmed
for the January 1987 CT class.
2. The Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS) will go into effect on
1 January 1987, giving the Agency authority to administer all of the
retirement systems covering Agency employees: the Civil Service Retirement
System, the Central Intelligence Agency Retirement and Disability System,
FERS, and FERS Special Category. The Office of Personnel will now maintain
employee retirement records, and the Office of Finance will generate their
annuity checks.
4. OC has provided a number of briefings on its experience with banding
in support of the various efforts that the Agency's Compensation Task Force
has under way.

6. The Office of Lo istics (OL) has invited 10 contractors to bid on the

8. OL's Printing and Photography Division (P&PD) has received the first
components of the new Dicomed Color Graphics COM Recorder. This equipment,
when combined with the existing color graphics system, will double P&PD's
computer graphics capability.
9. The Director of Logistics and the Chief, Supply Division, OL, will
accompany the Executive Director n a fact-finding trip the
week of 5 January.
11. The Office of Informs Technology (OIT) has completed its fall
recruitment activities. Over OIT personnel visited a total of 37 colleges
and universities, contacting approximately prospective applicants
ranging from student trainees to senior-level managers.
