Affairs and the Ministry of Social Security. The students in this class,
which had an enrollment of 120 women and 80 man students, bad been employed
in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of'Social Securityl, and
on the North Korean Railroad, and were enrolled in the school on the recom-
mendation of the North Korean Labor Party.
b. A class for Labor Party members who had been active in the province (do),
county (gun), and district (myon)2, administrative levels'. This class,
which had an enrollment of 180 women and 120 men students, had five in-
structors from the Labor Party who conducted a three-months course. Students
in this class were enrolled on the recommendation of the Central Committee
of the North Korean Labor Party.
c. A class for Labor Party members who had been active in the my5n and ri
administrative levels. This class, which had an enrollment of 200 women

and 170 men students, was instructed by six members of the Hwanghae
Province Labor Party, who conducted a six-months course. The students in
this classification were recommended for enrollment in the school by the
Hwanghae Province Labor Party.
4. The course of instructiaa for members of the special class and those taking the
three-months course was confined to Communist 'theory and maIttliriiiing. In
addition to these subjects, electrical engineering and the history of the North
Korean labor Party were a part of the course taken by the students enrolled for
six months. All students spent six hours a day receiving formal instruction and
four to ....?'?ours a day in military training. "Upon completion of their courses,
the students either returned to their former positions or were given new assign-
