Additional Personnel (Your Memo, 11 May 88)

1. Thank you for your recent letter regarding an additional
staff member for the Defense Language Institute's Foreign
Language Center in Washington DC. We are sensitive to the
personnel needs of the Language Center in Washington DC. As a
result of recent manpower cuts, the Assistant Commandant of the
Defense Language Institute (DLI) has determined that no
additional Air Force officer billet will be transferred to the
Washington office in 1988.
2. Should DLI establish a requirement for an Air Force officer
in the Washington office, we will work closely with them to
select a highly qualified officer to meet their mission
requirements. Again, thank you for your expression of concern
on behalf of the Foreign Language Committee.
