9. LIAISON Advised George Berdes,
House International Relations Committee staff, that the information he
had requested was in records that had been retired but that the material
should be available tomorrow and we would provide him an answer then.
This has to do with information provided the Committee in 1975 on the
IAEA.
? 10. LEGISLATION Senator Richard
Lugar (R., Ind.) called by way of follow-up of our contacts wit
vi e s, of the Senator's staff, regarding S. 305. I spelled
out our problem with and interest in this legislation. Senator Lugar
seemed to take this on board and asked if we had any backup material
on this subject or a proposed amendment. I told him that we did indeed
and that I would send this material to him immediately. He said he
would look into it and see what action could be taken in the Senate Banking
Committee, of which he is a member.

11. BRIEFING Dan Childs, Senate Select STAT
Committee on Intelligence staff, called and asked if I could verify the
availability calendar-wise of the Director and Mr. Knoche for 7 April
for a briefing of the Committee. Realizing that we might have some
difficulty with the subject material proposed, I said I would check and
let him know.
12. BRIEFING Accompanied the
Director and Mr. Knoche, DDCI, to a briefing of the Subcommittee on
Budget Authorization, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, on the
CIA budget. (See Memorandum for the Record.)
