This battalion wears the naval black unifOrw. It appears to consist of four companies of 120 each. In these numbers they have been observed at troop reviews. At such reviews the battalion has been armed with auto- matics of the type PPS-43, At exerciSes.they have-been observed also to use hand machine guns (ruchnye pulemeand antitank rifles of the type PTRS-43, "in Kopit,ale, in the basin at the Mew POst OADAW ) %bout 30 landing 50X1 -HUM boats of the type BDB have been stationed since eept The BIB boats ere metel pontoons of about 120 tons. Their apparent purpose is to protect the warships from observation from the air, The construction of the shelters presents no difficulties as the sea bottom,dn'the Naval Port is extraordinarily hard. 6. "The Tallinn trade harbor. and fishing harbor, have been merely rehabilitated and are at present more or less in their pre...World War II state; the New Port has received much attention. It it a natural harbor'a small bay with a depth of 10 in. Before World War. II there was only one small quay there and some oil stores. It was used for the import of oil and for the export of the products of the Estonian oilshale industry. The Soviets have built new Tlays of 1000 in. long, on its southeast and south 'shores.
