tric power stations in the Krasnodar Kray were drafted into the Soviet Army be-
tween 10 and 30 March 1953. About o?000 reservists and over 400 'volunteers'/'
chosen from among older groups of instructors in the Komsomol and the DOSAAVI
organisations were included.

2. "The Krasnodar Kray is fairly well covered by a network of electric power plant
As of 10 March 1953' there were 223 large provincial power stations and 6,100 small
kolkhoz electric power plants. These stations and plants.have employed about
14,000 electrotechnicians and mechanics in all, about 0,000 women and 8,000 men.
Now, after the drafting, not more than 2,000 men have remained.
3. "The draftees embarked from the port of Novorossiysk for the port of Nikolayev in
the Ukrainian SSR, where a concentration center for all reserve specialists was
set up in February 1953."
