Dear General Heinz;
I would like to draw your attention to a Symposium we
are arranging in concert with USSPACECOM J-2 on the topic of
"Intelligence and Space Operations," scheduled to be held at
Colorado Springs 14 - 16 November 1988. The Symposium is
co-sponsored by DIA. There will be at least eight hours of
sessions at the SCI level on 15 and 16 November, with a focus on
remote sensing, IMINT and multi-sensor / multi spectral data
merging and associated technologies. To make this Symposium
of greatest utility to DOD Intelligence , the Command, and the
intelligence support structure, I am asking for your help.
Would it fit your schedule and inclination to address this
Symposium? It would make a great impact on the Command and
assure success for the Symposium if you would be able to give
this favorable consideration.
The subject would, of course, be of your selection, as you
deem appropriate for the Command, the topic of the Symposium,
and your Agency. I would suggest that an !MINT ftscis, would be
useful. Your participation would be the highlight of the
Symposium, but I realize that competing demands on yourtime
will influence your decision. If you cannot support us*
person, would your Agency be able to support the Symposium \
with a presentation?

In addition we need to stimulate official awareness of the
Symposium. I hope you will be able to provide exposure for this Symposium
in official channels and encourage participation by the appropriate
agencies and offices.
I close by expressing again, on behalf of NMIA, our deep
appreciation for your continuing support for the Association and its
objectives. Your membership on the NMIA Board of Advisors is a continuing
source of strength and credibility for the Association. If you are able to
give us favorable consideration in this instance, I will be delighted to
work with your project officer to provide additional details as required.
