1. This report describes arrays possibly used for very-low-frequency direction-finding which
have been observed at four Soviet KRUG radio communications receiving support stations.
2. The report contains a listing of the four facilities, an annotated photograph of each array,
a location map, and a table of mensural data on each antenna array.

3. An array possibly used for very-low-frequency direction-finding (VLF-DF) has been
identified at four Soviet KRUG radio communications receiving support stations (Figure 1).
4. The array is similar in configuration and size to the Canadian CROSSED LOOPS array
which has been used for VLF-DF.
5. Each array consists of four short masts (items A - D, Figures 2 - 5) in a square configuration
with a taller mast (item E) in the center. The antenna elements appear to extend from the top
of the tall mast down to the top of each of the four shorter masts. There are two unidentified
objects on the central tall mast which appear to be circular and are
Table 1, which is keyed to Figures 2 through 5, provides mensuration
of the four arrays.
6. The array is adjacent to the control building at each of the four facilities. The configuration
of the array appears to be the same at each of the four facilities except Odessa, where only three
of the shorter masts could be identified.
