Molybdenum oxide catalysts suitable far destructive by-
drogenation in the vapor phase, developed at the
author's laboratory, were previously found to be very
efficient in cracking of hydrocarbons. In order to In-
vestigate the nature of the chetrAcal reactions occurring
on these catalysts, conversion of benzene was studied
in this work and the prod)icte obtained Investigated, con-
sidering also the results reported by some other
authors. Among these products, methylcyclopentine Offic..f T.cW-1 S-ic.t
(5810), normal pentane (1. 5V, 2-methylbutane (1. 51).

Desulfuri7ation, Fuels.
It was attempted to effect desulfurization of straight run
gasoline with end point 1150C and a sulfur content of
0. 12-0.29% at 2000C. 10 atm hydrogen pressure. a
space velocity of 2 and a ratio of hydrogen to gasoline
of 6:1. At the lowest of the indicated sultur contents
the catalyst was stable and the sulfur reduced to O.OL%
within 30 hours. With a higher content of sulfur the 011ft. f T.."k.l 5-1c..
