MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT
FROM: Henry A. Kissinger
SUBJECT: Cambodian Situation Report
Attached is a statistical update as of 8:00'p.m., May 21.
The following are significant highlights:
-- U.S. forces operating in Base Area 701 discovered a
battalion-sized bunker complex consisting of 100 houses and
100 bunkers. There were also many cultivated fields in the
area.
-- Elements of a U.S. cavalry squadron found a cache in
Base Area 351 containing 34 individual and 4 crew served weapons,
three vehicles and a small amount of ammunition.
