In 1950v a number of firms belonging to the Czechoslovak construction Corporation, including Posista, Eanstruktiva, Amastav, Ebravostav., and Stavoindustria Yore dissociated from the Corporation and yore assigned to handle special projects, particularly those of a military natuze.(1) Thus, the Posista firm has been responsible for the conctruction of all military airfields since 195O The firm is divided into four branches; Branch N6.1 is in charge of the airfield construction, a project yhich accounts for about 75 percent of the firmto entire nork. Branch NO. 2 does civilian architectural building and accounts for about 15 percent of all the york0 while another 10 percent of the nork is done try Branch No. 30 yhiah handles the construction of asphalt and concrete roads. Branch NO. 4.neintains the firmts equipment and motor pool. 2. One ground room with 400 squnre meters of floor space and a central switchboard and transmitting office complete the installations. Although it X was to have been completed by the end of 1951. the .:inistry of National Defence allegedly lost interest in the project and work lagoed, so that it is doubtful if the field will be cempletod before 1952. 7. The construction of X XI at ffradcany near Dokoy rti51/F4) began in 1049 under the nanagerent of Intr. Veverka, (4). His deputy is Koblenc, an architect.. Foremen working on the field include Josef Lepic, Josef Vitek, St.rosinv Sinecek and Antonin Makovicka. The project emoloys about 600 men, half of vhom are politically unreliable soldiers, or Class C recruits (not fit for military service), 8, The runway of K XI is 24,500 in. long and 80 n. wide. The taxi strip is 250 ma from the runway and is 16 r. wide. (5) The total concrete nrateovers 260,000 aquare meters. About 11,600 square metore is reserved for parking aircraft. In /949 reconstruction of the old airfield ot Plana Homole (049/05) near Ceske 3udejovice (049/496) was begun. This field was given the designation K Hood of the oroject is Frantisok Radl--(7) Foremen include josaf Kroh, age 28, ond Josef lejsek, ape 35.. A total of 1,200 nen are working on the field. Half of this number is Composed of politidally unrelioble soldiers and recruits who wore- classified nen. . 13. Tho runway or K XXI is 2,500 m, long and 30 m. vide. The taxi strip is 250 m. from the runway and is 16 m. oldo. The following instollations are under construction: building for technical equipment such as gonionotor? Lorenz transmittor-roceivor and transceiver, emergoncy akrns, etc..; a control switchboard office, control tower, oaraso for ootergoncy squads and two fuol storage tanks? each with a capacity of 250,000 liters.
