As the newly appointed Chairman of the ASIS Government Security Committee
for 19$1, I have been requested to develop a government security program
for the ASIS 27th Annual Seminar which will be held in New Orleans,
August 31 - September 3, 1981.
The theme for this year's Annual Seminar is "New Concepts/Old Traditions".
Each Seminar brings challenges to those involved, and this year's challenge
is to be innovative.
Our current membership includes between 15-16,000 members, with 27% being
involved in the government security program and vitally concerned with
threats to national security, their industrial vulnerability and possible
countermeasures.
On Wednesda September 2, 1981 we would like to extend an invitation to
to represent CIA on a panel with from the NSA with
a report from the Intelligence Community. We can provide a degree of screen-
ing, requesting clearances in advance should they be necessary. With your
approval, we believe participation would benefit our member-
ship with the expertise of your agency.
We recognize travel funds are limited and therefore, with your approval,
would rovide travel fare plus one night's hotel accommodation for
