SUBJECT : National Interdepartmental Seminar Attendance
1. This memorandum is for your information only.
2. As of this date, there are five candidates against a quota of
eight enrolled for the next National Interdepartmental Seminar which
begins on 2 November 1970.
3. Of these five, two are from the Support Directorate, two
from the Intelligence Directorate, and one from the Science and
Technology Directorate. The Plans Directorate has not identified a
nominee. There is an indication that the
may nominate a candidate.
4. We expect to have the Director of Training's review of the
Agency's participation in the NIS in your hands by the end of this week.

This memorandum was discussed by Mr. Coffey with colonel white
and not retained by Col. White. He indicated that he did not want the memo --
he is aware that Mr. Cunningham's study is being forwarded to him this week.

Paragraph four is designed to anticipate
Colonel White's inquiry regarding the status
of our review of the NIS. I have alerted Don

with both the D/TR and DD/TR that we have gone
past our initial target date for submitting this

4. We have reviewed the initial submission by the Office of
Training of a review of the Agency's interest and participation in the National
Interdepartmental Seminar. However, chiefly because of length, we have
asked the Office of Training to rework their paper. I have established a
deadline of 23 October for submitting this review to your Office.
