Introduction
This summary is a report of significant
activity observed on photography from 37 high
altitude missions flown over Cuba during the
perio and
updates prior publications covering 1963, 1964,
and the semi-annual report for the first half
of 1965.
Highlights of activity observed during this
period include:
1. SA-2 missile activity
2. Airfield activity
3. Port activity
4. Electronics activity
5. Military activity
6. Other activity
SA-2 Missile Activity
During the 6-month period, 4 SA-2 sites
(including I possible) were either established
or in the process of being constructed. The

Camaguey SAM Site was observed to be aban-
doned on
This raises the total of deployed opera-
tional SAM sites in Cuba to 22 with 2 additional
sites (1 of which is a possible) remaining
under construction (Figure 1).
Prior to this period, 17 of the SA-2 sites
were of the unrevetted field type and had been
constructed in a short time period (2-7 days).
Of the 4 new sites covered in this report, 2
are revetted, 1 is unrevetted, and construction at
the fourth has thus far been confined to the
support facilities. In addition, Guanabacoa SAM
Site was revetted during this 6-month period.
The construction or revetting of these sites
required from 2 to. more than 6 months.
Majana SAM Site 2 (Figure 2). This site,

the unusual activity at the site, it is probably
used as a training site.
Santa Isabel De Las Lajas SAM Site (Figure
3). Small ground scars were visible in the main
support area on An
access road to the support areas was ob-

were noted. Two concentric circles, approx-
imately 750 feet and 125 feet in diameter, were
faintly discernible.
The installation was identified as a probable
SA-2 SAM Site under construction on

struction, consisting of 6 launch revetments (1 in
early stages of beingrevetted), 3 hold revetments

facilities consisted of 7 probable barracks and
4 large and 6 small support buildings. A few
miscellaneous vehicles were observed.
To date, the site is not operational. No

missile-associated vehicles or pieces of equip-
ment were observed during this reporting period.
Palma Soriano SAM Site (Figure 4). This
site was newly identified in mid-to-late stages

Construction of drive-through, arch-roofed
buildings (Figure 6) increased during the latter
part of Q The buildings vary from 100 to
300 feet in length and are approximately 25 feet
in width. The entranceways of the buildings
