REMARKS:
geographic positioning of these facilities is only approximate at this
positioned in the same pattern associated with each buil ing_ There are
indications of various other tracking, instrumentation, and communica-
tions equipment at each facility. In addition, eactl facility has a secured
support area with about 20 buildings.
NOTE: Because of the poor quality of base maps of this area and
the scattered cloud cover on the photography, it is emphasized that the

This brief, resulting from a preliminary photograpl-ic analysis,
identifies two similar tracking facilities, one at approximately 47?48'N/
67?29'E, -about 3 nautical miles south of Dzhezkazgan, akd the other at
approximately 4 024'N/75?29'E, about 2 nm southeast. of Karkaralinsk,.
USSR. In physical layout and equipment, these facilitie are similar to
a tracking facility at Chelkar, USSR (47?45'N/59?35'E?. 8 Also, some
similar equipment has been identified near Launch Complex "D" at
Vladimir-ovka.. Each facility has two operations areas. One operations
area consists primarily of a TOKEN and a BAR LOCK r.dar; the other
contains two separated instrumentation buildings, with three vehicles
