TOP SECRET CHESS RUFF
The Kuleshovskoe Oil and Gas Field* (the
center of the field at 52-53N 51-10E) is located
10 nautical miles -(nm) east of Utevka and 40
nm southeast of Kuybyshev, USSR (Figure 1).
The field covers an area of approximately 8
square miles. The field has been observed on

photography revealed that the field
was in the development stages. At that time, shot
holes, indicating completion of a seismic profile
prior to drillir, and 10 drilling rigs were

visible. About 15 to 20 wells were visible on the
-photography. The photography of
the field (Figure 2) shows at 1east 43 wells, an
indication that the field:bs probably in production.
The shot holes visible in- were still dis-
cernible.
Four gathering tanks and associated units,
such as separators, which were under construc-
tion in , are located on the northern boundary
of the field. A pipeline which was also under
construction inm runs north from the tanks to
the town of Bogatoye on the Kuybyshev/Buzuluk
rail line. A storage area, a pipeyard, and ad-
ministration buildings are located in the southern
part of the field. These facilities are road served.
