This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a IDEA C [\ Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic :\nalvsis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence lliyision (\PI(:), and the Production
Center IPIc (1)]:A). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production Center 1Plc.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: .A) railroad service, (13) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D' administrative and troop housing areas, (F) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POI_ storage areas, (11) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage 'maintenance areas. J K) athletic fields,

This military installation is located approx-
imately 3 kilometers (km) south of Berdichev,
and about 1.5 km south of Berdichev Army
Barracks Zhevtnevyvs (Figure 1). Berdichev
Army Barracks Semenovka West is divided by
the main road connecting Berdichev and
Kalinovka. A single-track rail line crosses the
main road at the southern edge of the area and
runs into the city of Berdichev.
The installation (Figures 2 and 3) contains
a probable ammunition storage area, a drill
field, six small arms ranges, barracks, adminis-
tration, storage, vehicle storage /maintenance,
and support buildings. A large tracked /wheeled

Railroad Service
A single rail line crosses the main road
leading to Berdichev from Kalinovka at the'
southern edge of the barracks area and extends
on into the city of Berdichev.
Road Service
A good, probably hard-surfaced road bisects
the installation and extends to Berdichev Army
Barracks Zhevtnevvy, then into Berdichev.
Aircraft Landing Strips
Berdichev Airfield is
3 miles west-northwest of Berdichev Army
Barracks Semenovka West--
Administrative and Troop Housing Area
Area D contains five multistory barracks,
one U-shaped administration building, 21 support
buildings, seven storage /support buildings, and
two 250- by 50-foot vehicle sheds.
Ammunition Storage Area
Area F contains two 95- by 30-foot fence-

vehicle driver training area is adjacent to the
barracks area on the west side.

Area J contains one 280- by 40-foot'vehicle
shed, five maintenance buildings (three 135 by
40 feet, one 160 by 60 feet, and one 70 by 30 feet),
three support buildings, and one administration

Athletic Field
Area K is an approximately 500- by 280-
foot athletic field.
Small Arms Firing Ranges
Area L1 is a 380- by 60-foot small arms
firing range, area L2 is a 390- by 70-foot range,
and area L3 contains two 390- by 90-foot ranges
surrounded by either a wall or an earth revet-
ment on three sides. One side is partially
open and each contains a probable 60- by 30-foot
range house.
Area L4 contains two 350- by 45-foot ranges.
