Sestroretsk is located approximately 15 miles northwest of Leningrad near the shore of the Gulf of Finland. 25X1 D 25X1A 25X1A photography of Sestroretsk Zaliv and the coastal area within 10 mil es of Sestroretsk was studied in an attempt to locate a repord torpedo test range or torpedo storage facilities. Although positive confirmation is not possible from a study of this photography, an isolated military installation at the tip of Cape Lisiy Nos, five miles south of Sestroretsk, might be engaged in torpedo s e and test- ing activity. This installation is not new. It is evident on photography, but a new revetted buil has been constructed sine and the installation appears active on photography. The railroad spur which served the installation during the war appears to'be still in use. The principal components of this installation are as follows: 1. A two-story building, 135'x 70', completely surrounded by a 15' wide, approx. 10' high, earth revetment. This building and revetment appears on photography. DOCUMENT NO. Within this revetted area are three, one-story buildings measuring approximately 110'x 30', 55'x 20', and 35'x 20'. These buildings, visible on World War-II photo- graphy were completely camouflaged by natural vegetation on the photography. However, a road leading to this revetted area appears to be in use so it may be assumed that the buildings are still present. A new one-at building, 60'x 30', completely revetted, has been constructed An 800'x 40' finger pier a rom Cape Lisiy Nos. Haring World War II this pier was - 1800' feet long; photography indicates that the sea- ward end of the pier has deteriorated and there is a 375' wide gap near the center, limiting the effective length of the pier to 8001-.
