A-la-shan-tso-chi Army Barracks AL 1 is on the west side of
A-la-shan-tso-chi, 45 nautical miles northwest of Yin-chuan
in Inner Mongolia, China.
The installation lies in the desert area west of the Ho-lan
Shan (Mountain) Range. No other military installations are
known to exist in the area.
The modest installation consists of three separate wall-
secured areas, each containing housing and administrative
facilities. The three areas have remained unchanged since
No activity of a military nature or
ground forces weaponry has been observed at the installa-
tion. Prior to F _J the installation had been
covered only by small scale photography.
