Ting-hsi Military Barracks West, Lan-chou
Military Region, China
Ting-hsi Military Barracks West, on the
western edge of Ting-hsi, is approximately
45 nautical miles southeast of Lan-chou.
This wall secured installation was present
as early as 1961 and remained essentially
unchanged until 1965. However, billeting
space increased approximately 50% from
1965-1971. The three areas comprising this
installation (Aa-Ac) appear to serve prima-
rily a billeting function; area Ac may also
serve an administration function. Possibly
related military installations in the area
include Ting-hsi Military Barracks South-
west and Ting-hsi Military
