ITEM 2 JAEIC-GMAIC Meeting
25X1A suggested that GMAIC meet with JAEIC
relative to a recent event of possible common concern.
(A joint meeting was subsequently scheduled and held
at 0930 on 15 November 1961).
ITEM 3 GIB Item
Col. McFarland brought up a recent CIB item on truck
mounted missiles which he believed to have been
inadequately coordinated. The Army Member noted
that they no longer have representation directly on GIB.
This is also true of the other Service representatives,
It was agreed that Col. McFarland would again talk to
responsible officials in CIA to attempt to devise a
workable solution to the problem of coordination of
space and missile current intelligence,
ITEM 4 CIA/OSI Organization
briefed the Committee on the recent

ITEM 6 Soviet Science and Technology Estimate
This draft estimate was disseminated to the members and
they were requested to review it and phone in comments
by Friday, 17 November 1961.

No representatives had any recommendations for
changes to the current PNIO's.
ITEM 9 GMAIC Annual Report
A draft report for LTSIB on the activities of GMAIC
during the past year was reviewed and approved with
minor changes.
ITEM 10 CIWR Item
An OCI item was tabled for
GMAIC consideration. It was agreed that the conclusions
25X1A of the item are possibly correct, but a number of changes
should be made in the text. agreed to review
the text carefully and make essen W lac anges and/or
deletions.
ITEM 11 ARPA Proposal for Exploitation
After discussion which indicated general support of the
ARPA proposal, but differences as to means of proceeding,
it was decided to have Dr. Gigrich, check on the matter
further with ARPA and DD R & E. As soon as possible
thereafter GMAIC will act on the proposal.

Col. Land raised the question of what GMAIC will
prepare as a substitute for NIE 11-5 in the coming year.
It was decided that the GMAIC Secretariat will, on a
continuing basis, compile all agreed space and missile
estimates which post-date NIE 11-5-61 and supply copies
to Members according to their requirements.
