REPORT NO.
The most serious op^osit'--on encountered by the Communist Party of Colombia
(P00) in its oaruDaign to in the support of f ,rr workers is presented by
local priests, who openly oppose the Confederation de Trsbajadores de Colombia
(Colombian iorkera' Confederation-CTC) as being Communist-dominated and
support the Union de 1 ba jadores Colombians (Union of Colombian .Jor'cere__UTC).
The PCC decision to agitate among rural workers was based on the fact that the
lgrgest proportion of the Colombian population could be found in this category,
that these people are considered to be those most easily influenced, and that
the Party has encountered opposition in its attempts to agitate among organised
wor'cera, many of whoa support the Conruniat Labor Party (POO).
