The third meeting of the Cominforn renrisentative and the- pro-Comr+unist Portuguese leaders took place on 28 November 1948, and was attended by the tame neonle. The Cominform representative spoke as follows: 2. "Portuguese conredee, it is with great pleasure that I see that you have nut aside, temporarily at least, your divergences in order to unite in the struggle against the conmon enemy. I, I:s a representative of the Cominform, can solennly promise you that the question of your differences will be pre.. sented, with due regard to the ^'osition of each, to the Cominform by me, and I feel certain that the orrrnniaation which I renresent here will give it due attention. Ho'rever, I feel that note satisfactory results would be obtained if each of the organizations represented here T.-rould send a report to the Cominform exnressin-clearly and exactly the points at issue to which no nernanent solution has been found. For my nest I shall pre'a.re things at the Coninform so that that organization will be ready to receive a renresenta-. tive of each in case your reports are not sufficient for a solution of your case. I can sneak to you more frankly.
