Introduction This technical exhibit concerns the modification. of the Event- Marker Equipment Time Display. The objective is to modify the operation of the Time Display to indicate time relative to the start of a mission rather than to an event and an 8-db dip with time reference tone, as originally planned. The discussion which follows concerns the proposed functional changes, and the circuit and mechanical changes involved. 2. Functional Changes The functional changes resulting from the proposed modification are summarized below. (1) The time displayed will be changed from units of minutes, seconds and tenths of seconds to units of hours, minutes and tens of seconds. (2) The reset mode will be changed from either front panel manual re set or reset by an 8 -db dip in the incoming signal, to front panel manual reset only. (3) The time displayed will be changed from a display of the time of occurrence of an event on a selected input channel, with the display held at this count until a reset or another event occurs, to a continuous time display, with the display changing every ten seconds. (4) The Time -Display mode will be changed from either a strip -chart recording of elapsed time or a Time -Display indication for a particular input channel, to the operation of both displays at all times. `-I".Si^f^'??'? Circuit and Mechanical Changes The circuit and mechanical changes involved in the modification are summarized below. (1) The front-panel escutcheon will be relabeled. (2) An additional decade -counter unit will be installed to count hours. The present circuitry gives an output each hour, but no record is kept (electronically) of the number of hours elapsed from a reset. (3) The readout control bus will be keyed continuously to provide constant. readout capability. (4) The electronic reset circuit will be disabled. (5) The switch permitting selection of a time display on either the chart recorder or on the Time -Display unit will be disabled and the two displays. activated simultaneously and in synchronism.
