The Honorable Francis Case
U. S. House of Representatives
Washington 25, D. C.
Dear Mr. Case:
This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 13 October
1950 referring to 25X1
4 not presently on active duty, but is a
25X1 member of the JAG Reserve. and if he desires employment with the
25X1
25X1
Central Intelligence Agency at this time, it is suggested that he file
two copies of the regular Application for :Federal Employment
(Form 57) with this Agency. If s a Reserve 25X1
Officer now on active duty and wwwas. 4W" 0044gazinatrul in the field
of intelligence, he should make such a request through his normal
military channels.
The Central Intelligence Agency being a civilian agency and
not under the Department of Defense, does not maintain a Reserve
such as is maintained by the various branches of the Armed Services.
If is not now on active duty and is not desirous
of civilian employment with this Agency, but is interested generally
in the field of intelligence, it is suggested that he apply through
military channels for a transfer his Reserve Commission from the
Judge Advocate General's Reserve to the :Military Intelligence
Reserve in the Department of the Army.
I hope that the above comments will be of assistance to l
in connection with his request.
