THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS A PROBABLE MILITARY CAMP LOCATED
ALONG NORTH VIETNAM ROUTE 137.
2. REMARKS:
ROUTE 137, THE NORTH VIETNAMESE PORTION OF THE NEW ROAD WHICH
CONNECTS NORTH VIETNAM ROUTE 101 WITH LAOS ROUTE 911, PROVIDES THE
COMMUNIST FORCES WITH A THIRD MOTORABLE ACCESS ROAD INTO THE LAOTIAN
PANHANDLE FROM NORTH VIETNAM.
3. MISSION READOUT:
OFF NORTH VIETNAM ROUTE 137 AT UTM xE380414. THE MILITARY CAMP
CONTAINS SEVEN BUILDINGS (THREE ARE ANNOTATED ON GRAPHIC) AND NUMEROUS
CLEARED AREAS UNDER MEDIUM-TO-HEAVY TREE CANOPY. VEHICLE TRACKS
EXTEND FROM THE MILITARY CAMP TO ROUTE 137 AT UTM XE385424. A
PROBABLE STORAGE CAVE AT THE BASE OF A KARST HILL AT UTM XE377411 IS
SERVID BY AN EXTENSION OF THE ACCESS ROAD FROM THE MILITARY CAMP.
