Abstract: it is shown that the complex Lorentz group can be parametrized
by using two independent,comulex,three-dimensicnal iectors. In this regard
there is a far-reaching! analogj with the real Lorentz group. General ex-
pressions are derived for finite transformations of irreducible finite-
-dimensional representations of the complex Lorentz group.

Abstract: The authors, associated with the Order of the Labor Red
Banner Polytechnical institute imeni S. Grdzhonikidze oil i~ovocher-
kassk, consider some of the reactiw power levels to be obtainiE~d
from long-distance lines without intermediate connections. THey
assert that the technical Dossibilities and econoziiic advantafres
of using reactive power nave not yet been adequately studied.
Finding an expression for the maximum output power at she re-
ceiving end of the line, they present curves for determining "he
parameters of the imaximnum power transmission at the line's point
of origin. As an idea of how these parameters vary, they piot
their curves as functions of the line lenath from data computed
.Lor a line of 500 kV with 3 X ACO-500 conductors. To illustrate
their handling: of the variation in transmitted pcwer and voltag,,,e
at the receivinG end of the line, they use a line 500 k-T- long,
made of these conductors and carrying 500 kcv. Curve-s of the
voltage as a function of the power in thirj exam1ple are given.

Abstr4ct: Results are presented of an investigation of the dynamics of carbon
burning in a 100-ton converter of the Krivoy Rog metallurgical plant. A close
relationshiD is established between the rate of converter bath decarburization
and the pressure of exhaust gases under the dome. An algorithm is Tresented
for determining the carb3n content in the converter bath, based on the balance-
statisticall ta~-_f=z _-Izto account the variation pattern of pa-rameters
closely related to the decarburization rate of the converter bath. An analog
computing system -was de-velopei for the continuous determnination of carbon con-
tent In the converter bath. Problems related to self-aliEnrent of the converter
