SECRETARY OF THE ARMY
WASHINGTON
31 January 1974
Dear General Walters:
I am inclosing a copy of a letter written by
I o the Office of Personnel.
The letter is self-explanatory and is an application for
reemployment with the CIA.
I am writin to bring this to your personal attention because
I believe that is a very unusual young man and it
might be worthwhile for you to take a look at his application and
determine whether you have a use for him.
His record of accomplishment speaks for itself. I would
just like to say that I have known him quite well over the past
ten years. He has worked directly and closely with me from
time to time. I have found him extremely energetic, capable and
loyal. I know that he has a deep and genuine desire to return to
his work at the CIA.
I think it is likely that there might be a spot for him with
you where he could be of real service to his country, and I wanted
you to be aware of my thoughts on this.
With warm regards,
Sincerely,
LTG Vernon A. Walters
