Abstract: Of 002; on 18 August, 59 analyses of the air and
and 35 measurements of the temperature were made
with stops every 15 and 30 km., and after com-
pletion of the transportation. The transporta-
tion was borne very well by the bees. The tem-
perature of the free space above the frames was
always lower than the temperature of the nest.
In the main, the temperature of the nest remain-
ed at the same level, while the temperature of
the free space was gradually increasing from
27.20 to 30.30C in connection with the moving
of the bees there. The experiment demonstrated
that high concentrations of C02 (2.59% in the
nest and 3.3qo in the free space), while inhi-
biting the vital functions and metabolism of the
bees, exert no negative influence on them.

Abstract : Studies were conducted of the gastric Juice of an adult
dog with a fistula of the parotic gland and stomach., and
of 2 puppies with gastric filtulas; the juice was collec-
ted before and after feeding, as well as after the intro-
duction through the filtula of 3 to 20 ml of a 10% solution
of CuS04. The general acidity of the stomach (which was
higher in the adult dog than in the puppies) rose inter-
mittently after the administration Of CuS04, than started
to gradually decrease) while the C1 contents continued
to go up. Half an hour after the administration Of CuS04,

and was insignificant at the end of one hour and a half.

ABSTRACT: An Author's Certificate has been issued for a signal cartridge of
white smoke to be ejected from an airplane or lielicopter for determining the
direction of the wind in a landing area. The signal cartridge consists of a case with
a lid, a stabilizer, and an impact inechnniarn. In order to ensure smoke forma-
tion at a reaction temperature without setting fire to dry branches, grass, etc. , tile
casing contains a mixing chamber (tube) and a glass ampoule filled with phosphot-us
trichloride and is filled with a 2516 nqueous ammonia solution, Tile ingredients

Practice of calculating accuracy of standard processes and
standard products are discussed. In the articles on inter-
changeability and engineering measurements an evaluation of the
present state of this field is presented along with the
scientific and engineering outlook for the future. Theoretical
and practical problems of automatic inspection are discussed.
