TEXT: Metallization by spraying plays an important part in
shipbuilding
where prevention of corrosion attack is an acute problem.
Metallization by
spraying zinc and aluminum is compared with other methods of
producing metallic
coatings, which are considerably less suitable for.shipbuilding than
metalli'za-
tion by spraying. Examples are given of using-metallization in
shipbuilding
and results are presented. A description is given of the properties
of the
coatings and material used for sand-blast cleaning of the metal
prior to metal-
lization by spraying (quartz sand, steel filings, electrocorundum).
Recommen-
dations are given as to the metallization techniques.

TM: Observations of the time service of the Belgrad Observatory
carried
out in 195? - 1953 have shown systematic differences between
clock corrections
determined in evening and morning hours. The amplitu *do of these
differences
varies with time but the phase remains.practically constant. The
amplitude of
annual wave of these differences has opposite signs in summer and
winter months.
Such an inversion is explained by the author as resulting from
the heat effect
of the massive building of a 65-cm Zeiss refractor situated in
the meridian of
the transit instrument. Temperature gradients arising thereof
give, in their
turn, risd to slopes of air layers. Calculations performed
confirm the differ-
