Abstract : Experiments showed that 1-chloronaphthalin, when
passing its vapors
over an aluminocilicate catalvat or over aluminum oxide In the
stream
of hydrogen chloride, smoothly isomerizes Into
2-chloronapbtalin.
The isorerization reaction is reversible. In those conditions
the
2-chloronaphthalin converts Into 1-chloronaphtlialin.
Equilibrium at
3500 Is attained by a mixture of Isomers containing about 55%
of 2-
chl'oronaphthalin. Eleven references; 5 USSR cince 1875; 3 Gemn
