TEXT: On a systematic examination of an emulsion pile (Ilford G-5,
6000) irradiated for 8 hours at a height of 27 - 30 km, the authors
found one 6 + 31P interact-ion. The event to interpreted as an inter-
a-,tion of a nucleon with a nucleua of the emulsion, and ite energy
spectrum is studied. The energy of the primary particle is then found to
be equal to (4-7tl-O) .1012 ev. The measurements were made with an
MOW-8M (14111-6M)Omicroscope. The angles of all shower particles related
to the primary particle as well aB their energies were measured (Table/'
Fig. 1 shows the angular distrilution of the secondary particles, and
Fig. 2 the transverse momentum distribution. The mean length of the

nuclear interaction was of the order of 30 rm, the mean transverse
momentum was (O-17tO-O2)Bov/c. The best agreement between the hydro-
dynamic theory of L. D. Landau and the experimental data is obtained for
kT - (1/2)p,,c2. The primary particle gave iO~ of itn energy for the
formation of the Booondary particles. The authors mention a Paper by
G. A. Milekhin and Y. L. Rozentall (Hof. 6 '). There are 2 figures, 1 table,

TEXT: This paper is the continuation of i ,lie work invastigatinE the production of
hypernuclei in photoemulation exposed to the internal 8.8 Bev proton beam. The
experimental procedure was described in mi earlier paper by V. A. Tumanyan,
14. G. Sarinyan, D. A. Galstyan, A. R. Kanotsynn, and M. Yo. Arustemova (Rof. 1j
ZhETF, 41, 1007, 1961 ~6 The results are cumnarized in Table 1 containing the first
known cases of the BA and BA11 decays. The article concludes with a detailed
discussion of the results on the basis of theoretical suggestions by F. Forrary
and L. Fonda 'Ref. 31 NuQvO Cim-P 7, ~20, 1958) and H. Fri-askoff and 'd. B. Chaston
(Ref.-4t Phys. Rev., 92, 1537, 1953), W.a physical resulte are In agreement with
t-ae conclusions of the first part of the Ref. 1. There are 3 figures and 2 tables.

TEXT; The author considers the rroblem of the correct expression of the
random error of a function. In the befinning of the paper, after interpreting
come of the concepts of mathematical si;atistics, the author considers the prob-
lem of determining the error of a func-.ion and cites an example where the direct
method of determining the error of the function has no definite meaning' Fur-
ther or,,a method is proposed for expressing the error of a function of mean val-
ues which is free of the above drawback. This expression is derived for the
case of dependent measurements and In it the order of magnitude of the remainder
terms is defined. A criterion is also proposed in the paper for estimating the
values of the means of two functions tind a numurical example Is cited.

Based on experience with the treatment of 101 cases of solitary cysts of the bones
the indications and counte rind icat ion a for surgical treatment are discussed. Re-
liable surgical results ar~? obtained only with stabilized cysts in a quiescent stage.
Early surgical treatment is recommended in active evolutive cysts only when
there Is a danger i pathological fractures or uggressive growth and in cases of
(in atypical clinical picture with suspected malignity. Finally there is a discussion
(if the dirterential tilairtinels or bone cysts from some similar runditiuns with
which thoy are confumed.
