Abstract : In.patients with hypertrophy of the prostate
gland (stages
I-III) daily diuresis and blood rest nitrogen were
deter-
mined, the Zimintsky test and chromoscopy were
performed.
The first symptom of an increase in the size of the
gland
was polyuria, then a reduction in the concentration

city of the kidneys and an increase in blood rest
nitrogen.
The degree of renal insufficiency depended upon the
degree
of damage to the prostate gland.
