On 27 February Mr. Dulles indicated that the following action had
been taken at the PSB luncheon on 26 Februa yi
s,. The P2B budget as submitted by Mr. Morgan was approved.
b. The members of the Board discussed further a possible
successor to Gen. Magruder. Mr. 'yes suggested Lt. Gen. Erskine,
OW. Gen. ftith and Mr. Staseen felt that this would be an
excellent choice. Mr. Dulles expressed no opinion inasmuch as he
did not know Gen. Erskine. On the basic of his apparent qualifi-
cations however he would be an excellent choice.
a. The PS3 discussed further the "brain washing'" question
and requested. Mr. Dulles to gent in touch with President Bronk of
Johns Hopkins to see whether he would head up a panel of private
consultants erienced in the appropriate fields which would
issue a statement in lieu of the Pentagon press release earlier
proposed.

a. There we general discussion of the recommendations on
which the Rockefeller Committee is working respecting the future
of State Deparbnent information activities, especially the
Voice of America. It was felt that any PSB views may well be
coordinated in the event agreement could be reached with the
Rockefeller Committee. Mr. Dulles agreed to work on a possible
organization along the lines agreed to and which Mr. Dulles in-
dicated coincided closely with the thinking of the Rockefeller
Comm i.ttee .
