of photographs wero
taken. It has bQen found that polarization of the comet varied
couiderably along

electric fluctuations
of photomultipliers and variations in sensitivity of
photomultipli.ers. He draws
a conclusion that for these observations a region with
minimum night-sky glow
and minimum saimxillations should be selected; moreover, it
is deedrable to have
physical receivers of radiation with admisvible output;
current of the order of
10~ amp. Electric fluotuations in photowultipliers and tube
amplifiers should
be suppressed. Special investigations shov that errors in
photoelectrical ob-
servations, caused by chang es in sensitivity of a
photomultiplier during expo-

ABSTRACT: In an ea:71ier paper (Ref I'll R. A. Alikhanov
described
the design of a valve of' very low weight which permit's
continuouig regulation of' small quantity gas flows
at pressuires up to 4 atnt. This valve has been modified
by the authors of this paper to permit regulating gas
flows witli pressures up to VjO atm. This bellows type
valve is of small dimensions and due to a special
configuration of the needle 'the in tial gas flow can be
regulated between 0.03 and 0,-05 cmi/min at normal 3
pressure. Up to the maximum flow, which is 2 to 3 cm /min,
the flow 37ate3can be regulated with an accuracy of
0.1 to 0 .:1 cm /min for it pressure gradient of 150 atm.
In the cai3e of lower pressure gradients the accuracy of
the regulation can be made 'bigher. The valve was
