In its upper part Karamolinskiye layers were separated (Ref 4) (with a height of from 6o-loo m). They are characterized as to their lithological features. Beloy, sandatone and argyllites thin interlayers of shell rock occurt which contain remains of lily crinoid, corals, brachiopodes and trilobites. In argyllitcs the grapholite 9pecies RectoUnrtus almatiensis Kell. -,-as found. It is pos- sible to d:rar conclusions from some of these fossils on the upper part of the Caradoo. These layers.represent a gradual transition t the Tastykoll3kiy- luyers stratified below. The shells are mostly in a bad state of preservation, the chitinoid ---,.ubstance thus being scattered throughout the rock. The amount of this subotance was nnalyzed according to the method by 1. V. Tyurin in the laboratory of the Institute of Soil Science (Institut pochvovedeniya) of the Icade=y. A content of 1,31 of organic substance was found. Among the described inicroorganisins forms are found, which are similar to one-chajober 4' oraminifers (A. ryzenak (Einenack) Refs 1-3), multi-chaml)er ones, hoviever, are much more numerous. Publi- cations on foraminifers with a chitirious she!-- are rather rare (Befs 1-3, 5, 6). The complex which was discovered in the Caradoe is characterized by purely chitinoid fora- minifers o!' minute dimensions (0,043-0,195 mn). The nulti- chamber va3' -ietics differ from all known recent and fossil forms by a peculiar and complicatt-lel shell structure. The possibility of using the reaction of hydrogen exchange in the study of the mechanism of hetero- lytic reactionts was investigated. Furthermore the hydrogen ex- change was investigated in the following cases: a)In the hydro- lysis of tertiary alkyl iodide by water enriched with heavy hydrogen (deuterium). b) In the exchange of iodine atoms in alkyl iodide with a 56% H J enriched with deuterium. It was found that the hydrogen exchange in C.-H bonds occurs in such Card 112- reactions where according to the data supplied by kinetic inves- Hydrogen Exchange in the Process of Reterolytic SOV/62-56-7-2/26 Reactions. It wts shown in detail that the hydrolysis of tertiary iodidea(c 4H9J and 05H1i J) and the iodide exchange In tertiary iodides are accompanied by hydrogen exchange reactions, if the hydrogen aalkkvg~ dces not take place in the reaction of the iodine exchange iu secondary and primary iodides. This tends to show the bimolecular mechanism of these reactions. There are 2 tables and 30 references, 15 of which are Soviet. Tertiary butyl chloride,, e.g., which does practically not exchange hydrogen with acetic acid anhydride enriched with deuterium easily exchanges hydrogen atoms for deuterium in the same medium at 1&w temperatures in the presence of FeCl,, Sb C15' SnClV ZnCl 21 irgci2, etc. The investigation of the hydrogen exchange kinetics of tertiary alkyl chlorides showed that Card 1/2 the exchange rate depends'mainly on the nature of the metal. On the Mobility of Hydrogen Atoms in Tertiary Alkylchlorides in the Presence of Levij , Acids ASSOCIATION: SUBMITTED: SOV/62-59-4-40/42 The lyusic acids can be arranged in the following order according to their effect on the hydrogen exchange rate: FeCl37z; SbCl5-;* SnCl4~::- ZnC12>-Hgcl2' This order is similar to that in which their catalytic activity in the reactions of the type of the Friedel-Crafts reactions decreases. We presume that the reason for the described effect of Lewi6 --oids is that they promote the heterolysis of the carbon-chlorine bond and that the hydrogen exchange in these cases is connected with the carbonium ion formation." TITLE: An Integral Method of Dividing Circles (Integrallnyy metod deleniya okruzhnosti) PERIODICAL: Izmeritellnaya Tekhnika, 1958, Nr 1, pp 16 - 17 (USSR) ABSTRACT: The article describes a method and mechanism for precise graduating. The mechanism is actuated by electric induct- ance. It consists of a toothed fixed core and a toothed rotating ring (Fig. 2), each core tooth carrying an induct- ance coil. All coils are connected between themselves and into a phase-sensitive circuit (Fig. 3). The inductance of the indicator changes with the changing gap between the teeth on the core and on the ring when the ring rotates. The auxi- liary inductance automatically returns the circuit indicator back to zero position. The mechanism is called "integral" because the inductance of the indicator equals the summary inductance of the coils. As the parts of the mechanism ope- rate without contact, they require no precision machining. The method has been tested on a experimental "integral" Card 1/2 device for dividing a circle into 360 parts. Even with this An Integral Method of Dividing Circles SOV/115-58-1-6/50 experimental device which was rather inaccurately-made and had a pitch error of about 4 min, the reading error visa 60 times smaller, than the mechanical production error of the parts of the measuring device. M. Zayezdnyy "On the exact definition of a hypothesis in textbooks was published. Zayezdnyy tries to prove by means of the 6-function that X ~ ' in input the current circuit without losses (i.e. at R = 0) at the moment of resonance. Here it is shown that in the present case it is not necessary to use the 6-function. In this case 'Dirac is referred to, who, in 1930 showed that the 6-function is only a convenient denotation. Zayezdnyy is repo6ached with being apparently of opinion that in the case of using 6-functions a division by zero can be oarried out strictly mathematically and thus a defined result can be obtained. Both authors of the present letter are of opinion that from the definition of the phenomenon Card 1/2 itself follows that the reactive component becomes equal to BYKOVA_SA YKQ,_YtA,_.kand. med. nauk; KRYMOVA, H.B., kand. med nauk; MAKSIMOV, I.A., kand. med. nauk Atelectasis-following partial resections of the lungs.
