determi the severity and frequency of postvaccinal reactions
to the use of DTP trivaccine, the authors found that only one
of the 239 cases of encephalitis, meningoencephalitis and
menin-
gitis with clear fluid which occurred in children born in 1960
through 1964 in Bucharest showed a possibility of a causal
connection with the vaccination; this gives a probability of
post-vaccination encephalitis of 1 : 200,000. Vaccination
reactions (slight to medium) appear within 12 to 24 or at
most 48 hours and disappear without treatment.

Abstract (Authors" English summary modified]: After a review of
tne d in Rumanian and world literature regarding uterine
tetanus, the authors discuss 45 cases of the infection seen at
the Department for Infectious Diseases of the Craiova Hospital.
Attention is called to the great diversity of forms which may
occur and to the severity of the disease, which showed a death
rate of 84.6 percent. While timely serum therapy and curettage
gave the highest recovery rate of the treatments tried, the
authors stresi that the only effective prophylaxis consists o1,,_
specific prophylactic measures coupled with a general rise of
educational and sanitary standards* -

1/2D. The chief conditions, with which pots made of
basic (up
to 4o% of Al,,,o3) and of acid (up to 21% of Al.,Oj)

In order to secure the necessary properties of pots, it
is re-
comnended to use pure raw materials: clays
characterized by
sufficient plasticity and insignificant shrinkage at
drying
and burning should be used. with addition of chamotte
containing
41% of AIA,3and less tbim 1.8% of Fe.1.03 and of water
absorption
of 5 to 9%. At the preparation of the mass for the
pots, special
attentivashould be paid to the size of Ph e grains, to
the
careful mixing of the dry cmTonents (clay and 6h" tte),
to thp
addition of the exact amount of water, to the mixing of
the mass
in vacuum band presses before and after aging. Two
methods of
manual pot shaping am described in detail: by nibbing
and by
slapping. Instructions for the transportation of
semi-finished
goods after drying are given. The regime of burning
pots of
