TITLE: Increasing the! water resistance of polyester laminated

TEXT: Causes of a reduction in the mechanical properties of
polyesi.-3r
laminated plastics (PLP) are indicated and the possibility of
eliminating
them by using fillers is suggested. A study is made of the
properties of
PLP with fillers; Volan A, Verlan 14, F, MZ, MF, CR-1 chromium
compi-ex,
and silicones (vinyl trichlorosilane, vinyl triethoxysilane,
and A-172).
The best results are obtained using silicone fillers. PLP used
without
fillers lose 4Y/6 of their bending strength, but only 2-3~
with silicone
fillers. Bending strengths of PLP with and without fillers are
given for
14 and 60 days' wetting. [Abstracter's note: Complete

With a single exception, improvement of the functional state
of the second signal
system was recorded In all the female patients who had
subjected themselves to
sleep therapy. This become manifest in improved power of
speech, normalization
of the latent reaction-phave, and in a normalization of the
reaction -formation due
to a regression of suppreusive symptoms in the connective
systems of speech.
From the rapid change of reaction velocity and reaction

Orig Pub: Biol., 1957, 12, No 3.2, 915-927.
Abstract: The fauna of the carrion flies (OF) of the Zobor
Mountain (587) represents an intermediate phase
between the lowland steppe portion and that of
the Carpathian Mountains. In all, 24 species
wore rogisterod. The greatest variety of OF

in limiting the propagation of tho gypsy moth and

The reliability of clot retraction time. silicone

adhesiveness for recognition of venous thrombosis
was investigated. The above-
mentioned laboratory tests, altogether 3.118
tests, were performed on 980 pa-
tients. 400 of whom had venous thrombosis. For the
recognition of the active stage
of venous thrombosis. the platelet adhesion index
proved to be the most reliable
test. Only ? out of 191 patients with an active
thrombosis showed a false negative
test, 31 out of 566 patients without thrombosis
showed a false positive test.

Abstract: [Authors' German summary modified] The
aforementioned antibio-
tic, discovered in 1947 and in use since 1948, became
subsequently the
object of warnings a,~,~ain~3t the possibility of toxic
effect. The drug
continued to be used, however, and disturbing reports of
nej'ative
effects have repeatedly La-opeared. The current article
reports on nine
patients treated between i954 and 1963 for damage to the
bone mar3:ow
due to the application of this antibiotic, seven of whom
died under a
diaGnosis of panmyelophthisis. The possibility of damage
to the hemato-
poietic composition is discussed, and advice is offered
as to the advis-
ability and inadvisability of applying the drug on the
basis of foreign
literature and the authors' o-ein observations. Under
Yugoslav cone',itions,
the blood picture must be checked before and during
therapy, ospecially
the reticulocytes and thrombocytes.

T.--XT: For the design of' the heating device for heatirxv
sheets and shapes,
in Da~,'Uicular, of ligh-~ and non-ferrous metals, it is
essential that the pro-
(~uct is placed between two heated plates, of which the lower
one is stationary
and the upper one can be lifted and lowered. The contact
surfaces of the plates
can have a different shape depe 'nding on the heated product.
Inside the plates
heat sources, for instance electric heaters, are placed. The
product clanped
between the plates is heated due to heat conductivity.
