criteria for groupings and reports her investigation of
differences in the clinical course between homologous serum
(SH) and infectious (1H) hepatitis. 7ho differences were
not always conclusive and lay mostly in the duration and
severity of the pre-jaundico symptoms of the SH, as against
the younger age group of the IH. As the treatment is the
same, it is primarily a problem of epidemiology and, with
increasing Incidence of the SH, bettor criteria for dif-
ferentiation should be developed. Ihore are no references.

for the medical care of mother and child in %%ardaw. The surroundings. circum-
stances and the type of nursing appeared to influence the development. The
average growth was slightly below that of the control group of full-lerm infants,
but the premature infants were outrophic. The average weight anti growth of girls
was lower than that of boys. The curve an the Wetitel grid had a regular course,
approaching line '61%'. but later. after the first 9 months of We. it was approxi-
mately parallel to the normal curve. and at a very small distance from it. The
development of motor activity showed a greater retardation in the independent

ABSTRACTi The State Radio Navigational Service in Gdyni&-(PP MORS), headed by
Tadeuaz*Duazynaki, an engineer, employs more than 1500 persons many of which are
former servicemen. It has two training schools of its own and five new workshops
are under construction to relieve the congestion. One fifth of ths:work is devoted
to radio navigational service and the rest to the manufacture of radio and electronic
equipment some of which are exported to communist countries as well as to Egypt, - -
Italy, and Spain. The equipment manufactured here includep among others, SP-402 aai;
SP-403 echo sounders for fishing boats, FM-331, FM-310, and PM-309 radio teleihonea.,
(the latter model in its final stage of development)p UR-631 two-way communication
sets, and OMNK-111 maritime radio receivers. Zbigniew Piwakowski, a graduate
engineer, heading the experimental plant for maritime electronics,'states that Poland

Minister Plenipotentiary of the Ministry of Navigation for winter action. The mea-
sures being taken to deal with sea ice in GdaAsk, Gdynia and the fishing bases of Ust-
ka, Wladyslawowo and Hel, au well as in the Eastern Hills are discussed. An ocean-
going icebreaker and 28 tugs with icebreaking attachments are available for this pur-
pose. Naval facilitieG may be used in emergency cases. Air reconnaissance is fre-
quently used for determining the movement of ice fields, the condition of floating
ice at the mouths of rivers etc. The problem of the quantity of ice which consti-
tutes a real threat is discussed.
