evaluation of the functional condition of the cortex, both in a state of rest as

of biopotentials at various cortical regions. Adjacent regions enter into such
-interconnections and their localization in the cortex in accidental; such "con-
nections" are distributed in a uniform diffuse way over the whole cortex. The
direction of "functional correlations" emerging between separate cortical points
corresponds to the direction of cominissural and associative cortical paths.
