2. Research material used in compiling the gazetteers included the Preliminary NIS
Gazetteerof' the USSR, Part I, Populated Places of the European USSR; the Ukrainska
Terwitorialniy Podil, 1947; the RSFSR Deleni e 1950; various small-scale Polish,
Russian, Austrian, Rumanian, and Ukrainian maps; the Generalnyy Shtab Krasnoy
Armii maps with 1:50,000 and 1100,000 scales; said AMS map 1301, sheets M-34 and
M-35.
