Abstract: By the action of ClS01'jH (I) on C6HP11 (II), the ob-
tainecl product, 4-HOC,,HfSC,,H, is a good condensing
agent for the synthesis oephenol-phtbalein (III);
the addition of ZnCl- decreases the consumption of
I and II. One hunda~ed forty-eight grams of phthalic
anhydride (IV) and 296 grams of II are heated at
1100C. until completely dissolved, for three hours
at 110-1150C-, 130 grams of I are added and mixed

NaOH, is precipitated with diluted HU until acid to

grams of IV, 211 gms- Of II and 34 grams Of ZnCl, are
heated at 1100C., 45 grams Of I Is added within 3

Abstract In nuclear emulsions exposed in a gamms-ray beam from a

betatron with maximum ez)er9Y 32 Mev., 142 stars were selected
corresponding to the 01.0 (V , 4 ) reactions. At gamma
ray energies less than approximately 24 Mev the reaction goes
in 50% first with formation of excited states of the C12
nucleus with energy of 9. or 10.8 Mevp followed by formation
of the ground state of Beg. In the re-Ining 50% of the cases
the mechanism is not definite but processes are possible with
formation of excited states of C12 with energies 12-76 mev
and Be8 with energies of 3 Mev., and also a direct breakup of
the nucleus into four particles. At gemme'ray energies
above 24 Mev one obseinres a substantial change in the mechan
ism of the reaction. From 80 to 90% of the reaction involve;

the remaining case the reaction proceeds with formation of the
ground state of Beg. The angular distribution obte4qed by
the author for the X particles that constitute of C-Lr- nucleus

theoretical values calculated for type El absorption. The
described change in the mechanism of the reaction with in-
creasing gamma ray energy above 24 YAv is explained by the
selection rules with respect to the isotopic spin.

At-stract : The author has measured the energy and angular distribu-
tions of photoprotons from silicon, phosphorus, and sul-
fur exposed to bremsstrahlung with a maximum energy of
32 Mev. The proton yields for silicon, phosphorus, and
sulfur, expressed in units of 105 proton/mole-roentgen
are found to be 3.7, 4.3, and 4.8, respectively. The
measured distributions were compared with the theoretical
ones, calculated on the basis of the model of the inter-
mediate nucleus and the Wilkinson shell model (Referat
Zhur Fizika, 1957, No 9, 22159). The energy distributions
are in very good agreement with the calculations on the

Abstract I The juice is heated at 85-900 until the pH is 4.5-6.0.
By adding coagulating proteina to the juloo almost all
the C is recovered. The protein precipitate has a Volume
equal to 1/10-1/20 of the total volume of the juice,
The juice is deoantedv the precipitate is dried to a dark-
brown product containing 65 000 Y per 100 g, The product
is grouhd and the powder is used for enrichment with
vitamin, From the dkied cores C is obtained by extract-
ion with gasoline, and the C is made into an oil oonoen-
trmte of a given titer. The advantage of this procedure
is the low loss of C (less by 50% than in other procedures.
According to Soviet norms losses of C are as high as
4V,. vrher6as in the abovo-desoribed procedure losses of
Care of 15-25%.

Abstract: /Author's English summary-modified.7 The author experimented
-with the application of a number of iron preparations to a total of 251
piglets from 26 different sows (12 Holland Whites and 14 Yorkshires) on
the Bikovo state farm near Subotica from 6 May to 30 July 1962. The re-
sults showed that 14yofer (product of Hoechst) and Pigdox-100 (product of
Cyanimid) are extremely high-quality products for parenteral administra-
tion with the great advantage of a single application with certain
effect, that Dufferon (product of Philips-Duphar) -is of equally high
quality for oral administration and for purposes of prevention rather
than therapy, that T-Ton-dextron (product of Poland) and Ferroline
(product of Taro-vit) are just barely satisfactory except perhaps with
repeated doseap and that Miap (product of Kalinovio, Zagreb) is usable
only if the initial hemoglobin oonoentration is rather high.

ABSTRACT: A general discussion Is presented on the importance of maintaining the continuous i
operation of various electrical and electronic equipment of modern airfields (radar, radio
communication equipment, light signals, etc.). A survey of the two existing systems for suto-

An electrodynamic-ivibratur.(comprining a vibrating coil
.-Situated in the air Sap of a magnet) -can be represented by three
equivalent circuits: .1) an electrical RLC circuit;
2) a mechanical circuit of mass m, elastance c and mechanical
resistance r; and 3) an ideal lossless electromechanical
transducer. Pifferential equations for the equivalent circuits are
discussed in some detail and the performance parameters of some
practical vibrators are reviewed. The frequency range covered by
there devices is primarily determined by the spacing between their
two resonance frequencies; most of the vibrators can be used at
frequencies down to 5 - 10 C/S; the upper limit is usually 5 kc/8
but some special units can work up to 20 kc/s. The output force
:of the vibrators ran-Ses from a fraction of a kZ to several tons.

Prague., Activitas Nervosa Superior, Vol 8, 110 4, Nov 66, P 432
Abstract: The emotional deprivation projection test (EDPT) was
used i7the investigation of 294 persons. It allows a quicker
and -more accurate diagnosis of the Eaemental personality features,
the prediction of frustration thresholds during physical and psych-
ic loads, and the classification of neurotic patients foll therapeut-
ic indications. The method was used to find a group of 50 people
among those investigated who were resistant to any psychothera-
peutical approach. 23 among these expressed hostility to the EDPT
u u
method. 11 out of these reacted positively to placebo ad-ministra-
tion, Out of the other 27 who had no objection to EDPTonly 8 re-
acted positively to a placebo treatment. 2 Western, I Czech refer-

Abstract! Psilocybin administers a biochemical and Psychic shoc!c.
Under its inflUance the mental structure of a person is loosened.
This condition is suitable for the application of psyehotherapeut-
ic treatment; without the treatment the shook is of no benefit.
A successful treatment under psilocybin shock must be repeated
at least 6 - 10 times. Best results with the treatment are obtain-
ed with patients suffering from personality problems* The drug
should be handled only by responsible ps7chiatrists. No ref-
