TITLE: Investigating the tendency of 90-268 0(17H2) CEI-268 (Khl7N2]) steel
to brittle failure

59M.1 The authors have determined the characteristics of the mechanical
prbperties of Khl7N2 steel after heat treatment forAifferent hardness, It was
foundthat under conditions of static, dyn amic and also alternating loads, Khl7N2
ateel possesses high mechanical properties and can be fully used for the manu-
facture of highly loaded structures. The highest strength and ductility charac-
teristies of Khl7N2 grade steel and a reduction of its sensitivity to stress
raisers can'be obtained by heat treatment for high hardness.
