one or two timing pulses durin!r 1.5 us. The coincidence
output pulse is applied to a 0.5 -~is delay*lin.e and
then actuates a switching univibrator which closes the counter
for the duration of three tithing pulses. This time interval
_Ls sufficient for reading or interrogating the cpunter and
recording its count. The front of the switch-off pulses is
delayed by 1 jis and then used to actuate a blocking oscillator
which triggers an interrogation circuit and the time base 2
The state of the counter is indicated 'at the output of the
interrogation circuit in the form of a train of pulses and these
are applied to the vertical deflection plates of the tube and
are recorded on the time base 2 . The first line records a
random number corresponding to the state of the counter at the
instant of the appearance of the input pulse. The input pulse
wi tb. a delay of 0.5 IIS is applied to the time base 1 ; the
interrogation pulse and the 1 Mc/s time markers are also'
a,pplied to this*time base through a mixer.' The interrogation
pulae is introduced into the time base 1 in order to eliminate
the ambiguity during 1 period of the quartz-crystal oscillator.

When the unblanking pulse of the time base 2 is terminated
the vertical time base is actuated and the rays are shifted
vertically by one step. The process is repeated d *uring the
appearance of the next pulse at the input. A block diagram
of the instrument is given and its operation is illustrated by
a number of wave forms. The instrument permits measurement

A13STRACT: The author formulates the basic equations for a steady one-dirnen-
slanal flow of a conducting medium through the channel of a MHD generator in a
homogeneous magnetic field. Cooling of the generator by the transfer of constant
heat from a unit area of the wall surface and friction against the walls of the
constant cross-section channel are considered. The specific conductivity of the
medium Is a constant tensor. Auxiliary functions represent the specific capacity
of the generator, the Lorentz force, the transverse and axial components of the
current density, and the intensity of the electric field, and specific cooling and

friction. These functions are formulated for various electrode connections which
define the -type of generator. The Faraday generator with an oblique connection of
the load, and the Hall generator, with oblique shorting straps, are considered. TI
solution of the system of basic nonlinear differential equations gives the tempera-
ture dependences and the axial coordinates of velocity. From these, the depend-
ences of other quantities of the state of the medium and the specific generator
power output are deduced. These determine the intensities of the electric field
and the current density according to the distance from the generator channel inlet.
Expressions for the terminal voltage of various generator types are finally deducec

TEXT: The magnetic skin in steel aheet-which is placed in an
alterna. ting, homogeneous magnetic field is investigated. The
magnetization curve is dependent on the intensity of the field
and is.substituted by a parabola of the n-th degree. It is
assumed that the sheet is of infinite size but.generally thinner
than t-orice the cbpth of possible penetration, that the Intensity
of the magnetic field is large.enough to be above the bend of
the maR;netization curve and that.there are ho hysteresis losses*
The author arrives at formulae for the parameters B, H and er

remain within.-i-,/4 to If/5, in all cases, the electric-field
vector leading the vector of the magnetic field. The eddy

TEXT: For the automatic control of fuel admission into the engine in dependence on the height of flight
the system of hand steering is equipped with a lever of the first kind fixed to a rod, which may be shifted by an
aneroid system. The ends of the lever arm move in parallel slots of the stearing elements connected with said
lever. One of the lever ends is blocked by special screws. The slots are cut perpendicular to the axis of the
aneroid rod thus permitting the lever to change its bearing point during its motion and hence the lever arm
ratio and fuel regulator adjustment.

IABSTPJICT i The author has shown that impurities which affect
the electric coAductivity of technical Al can be
classified into three groups: those having a
weak effect(Au, Ga, Ni, Si, Fe. Zu), those having!
a stronger effect (Cul Ag, Mg), and those having a,
warked affect (Ti, V, Cr, 14n). Impurities which
form metallic compounds which are insoluble in the
base metal do not lower the electric conductivity.
The strong effect of Ti and V can be explained by
the fact that they form carbides which have high

PeWzWM,-;r ,.4, Candidate of %lechnical Sciences. 1 The Problem of
Wliitivi! Notion 5
The auth)r studies the kinematics of relative motion in complex systems
and derives relationships between kinematic elements (velocity and ac-
celerati-DU) of thB motion of a point with respect to each system. The
problem is important in the construction of navi~atioaal systems.
