TITLE The TautomeriZ-m--o-f'Er-i-Ta-TMopolonee- (Tautomeriya arilazotropolonov - Russian) PERIODICAL Doklady Akademii Nauk SSSE,1957,vol 115,Nr 3,pp 526-529 (U.S.S.R.) ABSTRACT It is known that the tropolones which have no substituents in the position 5 easily combine with diazonium salte.Usually arylazotro- polones are the products of this reaction to which the here illust- rated structure is adscribed. The authore, however, some years agol found such properties of these compounds as were in contradiction to the formula I. A more careful investigation leads to the conclu- sion concerning their capacity of tautomeric transformations in the tropoehinonhydrazonee. This discovered tautomerism is similar to that of the 5-nitro-and 5-nitrosotro-polones as well as to that of the aromatic oxyazo compounds. The first results of the investiga- tion-ot tautomerism are the material of this report. The inyestige- tion was carried out with a group of 5-arylazotropolonce(IV)which was obtained by the azo-combination of corresponding tropolones(iii) with diazo ealts. The inclination of these compounds to reaction in the tautomeric model V was discovered in consequence of their capa- city of easy interaction with o-phenylendiamine.On this occasion chinoxaline derivates (VI) are formed which as is known,is not the case with tropolones themselves. On the other hand it turned out that arylazatropolones IV g-IV e very easily (e.lready on the occa- Card 1/:2 nion of warming in methanol) separate the oarboxyl group whioh io The Tautomerism of Ara-lazotropolones. 20-3-29/59 in position 3.On this occasion they change into corresponding 5-ar- ylazo-4-carboxylmethyl tropolonea(VII)Ithis reaction does not take place in the case of the initial tropolon(lIIg),in the case of the tautomeric models V g-V e,however, absolutely natural, where the se- paratable carboxyl group is in a 2-position with respect to one of the carbonyl groups. Finally it was found that on the occasion of the transformation of the arylazotropolones IVg-IVe into acids(VII) and also directly from the latter, slightly neutral compounds(VIII) are formed as a consequence of closing the heterocycle of the tro- pochinonhydrazon forms of the arylazotropolones. The knowledge about the tropochlrionhydrazon tautomerism of the arylazotropolones li-i~:tll which were obtained by chemical investigation could be confirmed spectroacopioally. The capacity of the arylazotropolones for the a- bove discussed tautomerism was recently noticed by Nozoe who also Card 2/.2 observed the formation of the chinoxalin-derivates with o-phenylen- diamine. In the experimental part the usual data concerning the pro- duction methods and the constants of the substances in question are given. Kara (gind i nsk - ned. il-ta, 1957, 1, No 8, 491-1,93 Abstract In 22 patients with brucellosis there were noted on the EEG: electric at3symetry of t1ae brain, irregular alpha- rhythm with tendency to spontaneous depression, interinit- tent with beta-rhythm and fast asynchronic oscillatiois. In acute and sub.-acute forms of the disease, the tendency to irritation (frontal and antero-basal regions) and nor- mlization of alpha-rhythm wider the influence of Card 1/2 - 95 - nitroglycerin were observed. In chroiiic forms, the reduced alpha-rh~thm arid fast oscillations in all re- gions of the brai,n were not removed by nitroglycerin. In organic affections of CNS, dysrhythmias of focal character took place. Apparently, at the basis of the changes observed in brucellosis, primarily developinG in the subcortical centers, there lies a disturbance of cerebral circulation. -- K.S. Two weeks after the operation the animals' weights were stabilized, body temperatures decreased by an average of 1,40., and the number of erythrocytes decreased by approximately 16%. In the first experimentp -30 experimental animals and 25 control animals were X-irradiated (RUM-3 unit, 180 kvq 20 map filter 0.5 mm Cu + 1,0 mm Al, skin focal Card .1/3 ACCESSION NR: AP4015095 length 40 em, dose rate in air 42.9 r/min) with single 600 r doses one month after the operation. In the second experiment 10 experi- mental animals and 10 control animals were X-irradiated under the same conditions with single 300 r doses two weeks after the operation. Weight changep blood indices# and mortality rate were used for radia- tion damage evaluation. Experimental animals irradiated with 600 r develop anemia earlier and have a higher mortality rate than control animals. In the development of leukopenis, no significant difference Is found between experimental animals irradiated with 600 or 300 r doses and control animals* Regeneration of erythrocytes proceeds more slowly in experimental animals irradiated with.300 r than in control animalao Pat dystrophy of the liver which develope on the 7th or 8th day Is less marked in experimental animals irradiated with 600 r than In control animalse The radioresistance of thyroldectomized animals is lovered apparently by disturbed metabolism of all types wh1oh leads to a WO&MMU4 of the cojapeneatory mooharilwas OrIgs art. hass 4 tables. 0 Cewd 2/3 ACCESSION NR: AP4915095 ASSOCIATION: I-y LenlWadakly med1tG Inskiy Institut Im. akad. Harmonic voltage was fed to the PD input from~h Stan- dard generator (SG) together with normal stationExy noise from a special geneXaor I (NG). The experiment consisted of determining the average frequency difference bet er rO and BG, the average time for operation of the system in the synchronous state (t e Card 1/3 L o24o4-67 ACC N& AT022339 average time between two phase displacements by t2n), Na the density distribution for phase difference and the probability for disruption of synchronization. A special device was developed for this purpose (D in the figure). Experimental results are given for two specific lov-frequency filters. Analysis of the experimental data PI) shows that a proportionally integrating filter with a large time constant and zero initial mismatch gives an average time to disruption of synchronization which is independent of the time constant and increases with a I reduction in the ratio of RIC to (R+Rl)C. The average S U time for synchronous operation with a proportionally integrating filter is nearly independent of the initial mismatch up to O.IA where A is the frequency band of the tem. There is a sharp reduction in the average time S Ys to disruption of synchronization when mismatch is in- creased beyond O.U. The average frequenar difference for the system in this case is practically independent of the relative time constant if the initial mismatch is no greater than the holding band. When the holding band is less than the initial mismatch, the average frequency difference increases sharply 'Wit the relative time constant. The average time for synchronous operation also increases with the relative time constant when the initial mismatch is zero. However, the 2/3 L 024o4-67 ACC- NIR I-A-T-60-2-2-339 Z5 relative time constant increases, there is an increment in the phase of TO by n-2W (n=1, 2,...) with eachIndividual disruption of synchronization, n increasing with the relative. time constant., Orig. art. has: 5 figuree, 4 formulas. More than 20 reports were read on the subject of preventive medical aid In areas where virgin and idle lands are under cultivation. Over 450 delegates representing the 25 oblasts of the Russian Federation attended. Deputy Minister of Health RSFSR, A. F. Serenko, read the main report. He stressed the need for Prevention of occupational diseases and extension of the dispensary system to sovkhoz and WS-workers of virgin and idle Lands. Prof. L. M. Maslova (Oinsk) spoke on sanitary characterictics of sources of water supply in sou*.hern Omakaya Oblast; Prof. S. M. These measures have been, and are being used in Siberia, the North- ern Caucasus, Northern Kazakh tan, and along the Volga. Modes of attire, chemical insecticides, and agricultural techniques em- ployed to eliminate rodent and acarina infestations are discussed. The effec:ts of terraln and climate on natural reservoirs are men- tioned. No references are cited. Institution Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology imeni Gamaleya (Di- rector - Prof. G. V.
